Fall break to Washington and Oregon

The kids had a week off for Fall break, so we flew to home to Washington and Oregon . We visited with family and took in some of the beautiful scenery of the Great Northwest. We took the kids to see a real volcano, Mt. St. Helens. We walked around on the trails, watched a video of when it erupted in 1980 and got some great photos. I remember going outside and shoveling the ash off the driveway and having to wear masks when you wanted to go outside.

We also took in the Portland Zoo one day and then headed off to the coast the next day. The weather was great, so much that the boys stripped down to their boxers to run through the waves. After they were all numb and couldn't feel their toes we had to make a stop for salt water taffy and rock candy.

We loved being home and when the weather is nice we always think about moving back. That is until we get home to beautiful Colorado and I talk to my dad and he says" it has rained just about every day since we left". We all had so much fun together and with our loved ones we miss dearly. I love my family and all of their funny quirks and different personalities.
